What is an RSS feed?

An RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed will allow you to receive regular updates from blog and news posts in real time delivered to either your email inbox or through a aggregator.

To start receiving an RSS feed you need to use an aggregator that will grab the feed your interested in and deliver it to you. There are a number of aggregators out there that you can download. You can start with one of these.

Podcast Readers

If you’re like me and use Microsoft Outlook 2007 then you’re in luck. You can configure Outlook to download your RSS Feeds. To do this please follow the tutorial link (coming soon).

Now that you have chosen your RSS feed application, you can start gathering your feeds.  When your browsing your favorite online site and see an icon that’s labeled with RSS, XLM or Atom and looks like this feed-icon-14x14  then you know that site has an RSS feed available to you.
