Go to Widget Sets.
Click on Edit Widget Templates.
Click on Home Page Widgets.
Change the line that says:

<$mt:include widget="Recent Assets"$>

To

<mt:Ignore><$mt:include widget="Recent Assets"$></mt:Ignore>
